Connecting iPhone 3G to home network?

how do i connect my iphone to my home network if the phone is not able to find the network? do i need to setup vpn on the phone? please help! anyone?

Click the Settings Icon. On my 3G it says WiFi at the top of the list. Touch that. Then touch the WiFi on/off option. Turn on Ask to Join Networks. Click the “home” key, that’s the round button at the bottom of the screen.

There is a free App that will continually scan for WiFi Connections…. it then pops up and tells you there is one available the name of it and the option to use it or not.
